Dr. Richard Banful

Chairman & Group CEO | MBCHB, FCOG(SA), FRCOG (UK), FWACS, FGCS

Dr. Banful is an expert in obstetrics and gynaecology with a high interest in Feto-Maternal medicine and Infertility Management. He is the founding Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer of Medifem Multi-specialist and Fertility Centre.
Dr. Banful has been a practising gynaecologist and obstetrician since 1989 and is nationally and internationally recognised for his extensive work.
He has lectured at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, NR Mandela School of Medicine University of Natal, Durban as well as the University of Southern Africa (MEDUNSA), Pretoria, both in South Africa.
He formerly lectured at the 37 Military Hospital and the University of Ghana Medical School.

Dr. Joseph Homiah

Medical Director, Principal Fertility Specialist | BSc, MBChB, FWACS, FMAS, CertIVF

Dr. Joseph Homiah is a Consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist with over fifteen years of experience in fertility care, reproductive medicine, and minimally invasive surgery. He is the Principal Fertility Specialist and Medical Director at Accra Fertility Centre, where he provides tailored, evidence-based treatment to individuals and couples.
He holds a BSc and MBChB from KNUST, is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS), and has advanced training in minimally invasive surgery (FMAS) and assisted reproduction (CertIVF).
Dr. Homiah is a member of the Fertility Society of Ghana, World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons, and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. He has collaborated on lots of research and has presented at leading fertility conferences both locally and internationally.

Benedicta Owoo

Coordinator | BSc, MPHIL, RN

Benedicta Owoo is a dedicated Registered Nurse with over thirteen years of experience in clinical care, research, education, and healthcare administration. She combines strong leadership and team coordination skills with a passion for delivering quality patient care.
She holds a Diploma in Nursing, a BSc in Nursing (First Class Honours), and an MN/MPhil in Nursing from the University of Cape Coast. She also earned certificates in Health Administration and Leadership in Health from GIMPA and the University of Washington.
Benedicta is a member of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association, Transcultural Nursing Society, and Sigma Theta Tau International, and has contributed to research on family caregivers of prostate cancer patients.

Maria Obi Ikwuagwu

Registered Nurse & Midwife | Fertility & IVF Specialist

Experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse and Midwife with over two decades of clinical expertise, specialising in reproductive health, infertility management, and assisted conception (IVF, ICSI, IUI).
Proven track record in patient care, fertility counselling, and IVF coordination in Nigeria and Ghana. Member of leading global fertility and embryology societies, including ESHRE, ASRM, and FERSOG.
Passionate about supporting individuals and couples through their fertility journey with empathy, professionalism, and clinical excellence, and currently serving as a Fertility Nurse.

Emmanuel Osae

Lead Clinical Embryologist

Emmanuel has over a decade of experience in the field of Assisted Reproduction Technology (ART).
He has performed thousands of IVF Cycles and played a vital role in the success of Accra Fertility Centre, in its quest to provide each family with its bundle of joy. He is a very dedicated professional and innovative, with a special interest in Cryobiology.
He holds a postgraduate degree in Assisted Reproduction Technology from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom. He also holds a BSc in Medical Laboratory Science from the Cape Coast University, as well as BSc (Clinical Biochemistry Option) from the Accra Technical University.
Professional associations include Fertility Society of Ghana (FERSOG), Ghana Association of Clinical Embryologist (GACE), American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society.

Gifty Awere Boateng

Embryologist and Laboratory Professional

Gifty has over 7 years of experience in Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART), specializing in advanced lab techniques like gamete handling, embryo culture, cryopreservation, oocyte retrieval, IVF insemination, ICSI, embryo assessment, and andrology.
She holds a Master of Science in Biotechnology of Human Assisted Reproduction and Embryology from the University of Valencia and the Valencia Infertility Institute. Additionally, she has certifications in Embryology and ART from Manipal Academy and training from the Embryology Academy for Research & Training in India and the UK. Her Bachelor’s degree is in Biological Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
She is a member of the Fertility Society of Ghana, the Ghana Association of Clinical Embryologists, and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, and is committed to advancements in reproductive medicine.
